Create and Track Tasks with ToDos
ToDos is a helpful tool to assign, track and resolve issues with a model. ToDos can be assigned to a user or a group with a due date on when it needs to be resolved.

Creating a ToDo

1. Once an issue has been found in a 3D model, click on the Create ToDo icon from the Viewer toolbar.

2. A prompt will appear with fields including the Description, Priority and Due Date. It can also be assigned to a user or group.

Note: A ToDo can also be created by clicking on the ToDo tab, however it will not have a model associated with it. The model can be added at a later time.

Tracking Tasks in the ToDo Page
A ToDo is helpful in creating a task for the user associated with the project. It can be used to create task for the highlighted errors of the model. This can be done from the ToDo tab.

Filtering ToDos
ToDo's can be filtered by Dates, Status, Tags, Priority, Groups and Users.

  • Date: ToDo’s can be filtered by dates. It can be filtered by choosing specific dates or with pre-defined options such as Today, Past 7 days, Past 30 days or All time (All events since the ToDo was created).
  • Status: ToDo’s can also be filtered by their status.
  • Tags: ToDo’s can be filtered by tags that can show tickets that are created by or assigned to a particular user.
  • Priority: The priority filter can allow easy viewing of important ToDo’s.
  • Groups : ToDo’s can be filtered by different Groups that are part of the project.
  • Users : The users filter allows ToDo’s to be found by specific or multiple users.

ToDo Properties
The properties of a ToDo can be seen on the right pane under three tabs, Information, Activity and Comments.

  • The Information tab displays the thumbnail, description and due date along with other important information.
  • The Activity tab displays any changes to the ToDo including changes in priority, due date, or changes in the assigned personnel.
  • The Comments section can be used to post comments and notes on the ToDo.

 

Attaching Files to a ToDo:


Files can also be attached to a ToDo from the Data tab. At the Data tab, select the file from the middle pane, click on the More button and select Add Files to ToDo.

After clicking the Add Files to ToDo, a new pop-up will appear for creating a new ToDo or you can add files to an existing one too.

Clicking the existing ToDo tab will show all available ToDos. Once you select the desired ToDo you can also view the selected files by the click on Show Selected Files link.

Adding Views to existing ToDo

Views can be added to the new ToDos and existing ones too. From the View accordion on the Data tab, select an existing view and click more dropdown and select Create ToDo.

You can either create a new ToDo using the same view or you can add it to the existing one.

Select an existing ToDo and click submit. You can always see the selected views by clicking Show Selected Views link.

The ToDos list  displays the ToDo notes added to the project. You can add ToDo notes and reply to notes of other project members. The ToDo notes are shared to all project members by default, but you can select a user or a user group who to assign the ToDo with a due date when it needs to be resolved.

You can dock or undock the ToDos list, and move it around the 3D view.

Create a ToDo

  1. In the ToDoslist , click the Create ToDo button .
    A new pane opens and you can fill in the ToDo information.
  2. Click the  button to save the ToDo.
    Alternatively, you can click the Create ToDo button  on the 3D view toolbar.

View a ToDo

  1. In the ToDos list , double-click the ToDo you want to view. The ToDos property pane opens.

Edit a ToDo
You can edit the ToDo only if you are the administrator of the project, or if you have created the ToDo.

  1. In the ToDos list , double-click the ToDo you want to edit.
  2. Click  the button.
  3. Edit the ToDo as needed.
  4. Click the  button to save changes.

Assign a ToDo
You can assign the ToDo only if you are the administrator of the project, or if you have created the ToDo.

  1. In the ToDos list , double-click the ToDo you want to assign.
  2. Click the  button.
  3. Click the Assignee Box   and select the project member or user group from the list, or start typing the name of the user or user group to filter the user list.
  4. Select the due date from the calendar.
  5. Set the priority and the status of the ToDo, if needed.
  6. Click  the button to save changes.

Comment a ToDo
You can add a comment to any ToDo.

  1. In the ToDos  list , double-click the ToDo you want to comment.
  2. When the ToDo opens, click the Comment box  to add a comment.
  3. Click the  button to save the comment.

Add an attachment
You can add views, files and clashes as attachments to ToDos.

You can add an attachment a ToDo only if you are the administrator of the project, or if you have created the ToDo.

  1. In the ToDos list , double-click the ToDo you want add attachment to.
  2. Click the  button.
    By default, the snapshot of the model is added as an attachment.
  3. To add more attachments:
    • drag and drop a view from the Views list
    or
    • click the  button to browse for other project files to be added
    or
    • add clashes by first selecting a clash in the Clashes list , and then clicking the  button.  shows the number of attached clashes.
  4. Click the  button to save changes.
    If needed, you can view the attached views in an external image viewer. Right-click an attached view and select Open.

Synchronize ToDos
If another project member has created or commented ToDos, the ToDos are synchronized automatically.
Alternatively, you can click the synchronize button  to have the ToDos synchronized immediately

Remove a ToDo
You can remove ToDos only if you are the administrator of the project, or if you have created the ToDo.

  1. In the ToDos list , double-click the ToDo you want to edit.
  2. Click the  button.

 

Trimble Connect Mobile

 A ToDo can be created from the 3D viewer by tapping the  icon. 

Enter the description, due date, etc. and after entering the info tap the  icon. You can view the created ToDo from the ToDos tab.
